Blessed Stressed

Did you know there’s an American Institute of Stress? Americans are so stressed out that we created a whole institute to study it.

A little stress is normal, but a lot of stress impacts your body, your mind, and your emotions. Chronic stress can lead to sickness, neck and back pain, memory impairment, and emotions!

And having a business? Whew, that can be a B I G source of stress 😨

I know it’s hard to step back.

There were some periods in 2018 where I was working back-to-back 18 hour days. It was having a major impact on my mood, my body, and even my business! I was so tired that I was struggling to do my favorite thing: come up with fresh new ideas for my business. The stress was getting to me, so I took a step back in December and went on vacation with my family.

Know what happened next?

I finally relaxed and it opened the floodgates. I felt clarity about my life and business, I came up with a ton of new amazing ideas, and I was able to make some big, amazing changes.

All it took was some de-stressing. A little quality time with our loved ones makes us all feel recharged and renewed.

Here’s how I eliminate stress in my life:

  1. Exercise. I teach yoga and dance! A little bit of exercise is good for the mind and body.
  2. Breathe. Doing some deep breathing exercises has an immediate impact on my stress level.
  3. Limit screen time. Step away from those blue lights! Computer and phone time has been linked to increased stress, lost sleep, and depression. I try to get out in the sunshine for a little bit each day.
  4. Ask for help. Seriously! Whether that’s hiring an assistant, a business coach, or just talking to your loved ones: asking for help can take a lot off your shoulders.
  5. Automate. This is a huuuuge stress-reliever in my life! On Thursday I’m sending you a list of things I’m automating so you can join me and #StressLess in 2019.
